Is Split a party city

Wondering if Split, Croatia is a party city? The truth is, it’s whatever you want it to be.

By day, Split offers relaxing beaches, historic streets, and island excursions. By night, it transforms into a lively hub for bars, clubs, and pub crawls. Whether you’re traveling solo or with friends, there’s something for everyone.

From quiet cocktail spots to bustling dance floors, Split has a nightlife scene that keeps growing every year.

What to Expect from Split Nightlife

Over the past decade, Split’s nightlife has exploded. Travelers can enjoy:

  • Trendy bars in Old Town

  • Beach clubs near Bačvice

  • Late-night dance venues

  • Organised pub crawls that connect you with other travellers

Many evenings start along the Riva promenade, where locals and tourists mingle before heading into the heart of Old Town.

Popular Bars in Split

Here are some spots that locals and visitors love:

Harats Irish Pub: A lively Irish-style pub that’s always buzzing. Drinks are plentiful, but expect it to be crowded during peak season.

ShotGun Shooters Bar: Perfect for trying new shots and enjoying drinking games with friends.

Chiba Bar: A relaxed outdoor bar with cheap drinks and a friendly vibe. Be aware that summer nights can get very busy.

Other favorites include Roof 68, O’Hara’s, La Linea, and Stranger Bar — all offering unique atmospheres and drinks.

Clubs Worth Checking Out

Split’s clubs vary from intimate venues to large, high-energy dance floors:

Central Club: Split’s largest club with top DJs and a vibrant crowd. Drinks and entry fees are on the pricier side.

Fabrique: Combines restaurant, pub, and club under one roof. Music is great, and it offers reasonable prices, but it can get very warm when crowded.

Club Black & White (Bačvice Beach): A beachside club with indoor and outdoor areas. Popular with younger crowds and a short walk or Uber from Old Town.

Club 305: Located in the Old Town, this smaller club often kicks off pub crawls and features open-bar hours for participants. Outside peak season, it’s one of the few clubs still open.

Club Moon: Split's newest club, we definitely recommend visiting and seeing what all the hype is about.

Nightlife Rules: Stay Out of Trouble

Split takes public behavior seriously. Tourists can receive fines up to €300 for:

  • Drinking alcohol in unauthorized public areas

  • Walking shirtless in the city

  • Public urination

  • Excessive noise or vomiting in public

Relaxed areas for drinking include the pier near the Riva and certain beaches. Keep in mind that liquor stores stay open until midnight, but alcohol is cheaper if purchased at supermarkets earlier in the day.

Join a Pub Crawl

Pub crawls are a fantastic way to meet new people and explore the nightlife safely. Popular options include:

  • Crozzies Pub Crawl

  • Split After Dark (our favourite + most affordable)

  • Tower Pub Crawl

These events often include drink specials, shots, and access to multiple clubs, making it easy to experience the best of Split’s nightlife.

Final Thoughts: Split as a Party City

Split is the perfect mix of relaxing vacation and lively nightlife. Spend your day exploring beaches, historic streets, or nearby islands, then enjoy an evening filled with bars, clubs, and social events.

Whether you’re a solo traveler looking to make friends or a group of friends ready to party, Split has a nightlife scene you won’t forget.
